Les Gorges de l'ardeche

GROTTE CHAUVET
The Chauvet Cave or Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave is a cave in the Ardèche department of southern France that contains the earliest known cave paintings, as well as other evidence of Upper Paleolithic life. It is located near the commune of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc on a limestone cliff above the former bed of the Ardèche River.
The cave was first explored on December 18, 1994 by a trio of speleologists: Eliette Brunel Deschamps, Christian Hillaire, and Jean-Marie Chauvet, for whom it was named.

AVEN DE LA FORESTIÈRE
Accessible à tout public, cette jolie petite grotte vous enchantera par son ambiance intimiste et son charme très particulier.

AVEN D’ORGNAC GRAND SITE DE FRANCE
The route covers 500 metres, part of it is a staircase leading down 120 metres. The entire route is entirely adapted for public visits. From many viewpoints along the way, you will be able to admire, in total safety, nature's imposing chambers. A world where multitudes of crystallisations combine the delicate with the gigantic.

AVEN MARZAL
The cave of Marzal was described in 1892 by E.A.Martel, a master pot-holer, as a naturel marvel. It wasn’t until 1949 that the french pot-holer Pierre Ageron, rediscovered the cave and envisaged it’s preparation for visitors a particulary audacious task. Recently, it has been modernised and can now be explored via an inspiring animated sound and light show !

GROTTE DE LA MADELEINE
In the midst of a natural beauty spot, classed three stars by the "Michelin" guide, and whose splendour has won over the most fervent followers of wildlife, one discovers the "Grotte de la Madeleine", which is one of the most outstanding examples of workmanship created and formed by subterranean water.
The show "Son et Lumière" has achieved great success.

GROTTES DE SAINT MARCEL
.. You will find yourself in the center of the world, in a vast network of underground rivers, pools and waterfall. You will also see sumptuous cathedral ceilings, unusual formations and vast evocative galleries: the Fountain of the Virgin, the Painters’ Gallery and the Kings’ Table…a mix between geology, archaeology and potholing. An hour-long guided visit will allow you to discover a magical underground world with special lighting and adapted walkways.
